Troubleshooting

1.  Consultus Connect app is not working - Internet Problems?

Consultus Connect requires an internet connection, this will be through the household's wifi in most cases.  Please check that the tablet is connected to the household wifi and that internet is being received through the wifi connection.  You can do this by opening a browser and going to a website such as www.google.com or www.bbc.co.uk

Please also try a speed test:  Go to www.google.com then type "Speed test" and run the speed test that pops up.

Anything below 3Mbps download is slow, the upload speed could be as little as 0.2 - 0.3Mbps, this is very slow indeed. Hopefully the download will be at least 5Mbps and upload at least 0.8Mbps.

If there is no internet on the device but you have Wifi connected and there is definitely an internet connection to the premises that is working (and this has been checked on another device)  then try resetting the Wifi on your device, go to Wifi in the settings and switch it off and back on again.

If that fails then you may need to reboot/restart/switch off and on the internet hub/router in the household.

And failing that - especially if there is no internet to the premises - you may need to contact the internet service provider, such as BT, Sky, Virgin etc.

2.  You are seeing an error message along the lines of:
"An Unhandled Error Has Occurred".

Firstly, click on Reload to see if that fixes the problem:

If that does not work:  Please log off from Connect, so you are back at the login screen.  Close the app and then restart the app so you are at the login screen.  Please give the app 30 seconds or so, you should receive a message at the top saying "Update The App", please click it.

If this does not solve the problem then please follow
section 3a below.

However, if you have an Apple iPhone, please check this:  Very old versions of iOS are causing problems - anything less than iOS 16.  (It's also a security issue for you generally if you have an old device and old version of iOS).  PLEASE UPDATE YOUR iOS TO THE LATEST VERSION.  You can update by doing the following:

1. Go to SETTINGS from your homescreen. The icon looks like this:

2. Then scroll down and select GENERAL.

3. Then select SOFTWARE UPDATE - from here you can update iOS (the phone's operating system).

3a.  Reset App
New Functionality to help with solving app loading problems!!

If Consultus Connect is behaving oddly — stuck on an old version, showing a blank/broken screen, or not updating after a new release — click the Reset App link at the bottom of the login page.  OR - If you see a "Reset App" option on the error screen, click it — the app will try to reset itself automatically.

What it does:

  •   Clears the app's cached files and forces it to download everything fresh.

  •   Signs you out — you'll need to log in again afterwards.

  •   For Carers/Consultants - This function does not delete any care points, medication, or other data you've entered while offline that hasn't synced yet — that's kept safe.

When to use it:

  •   The app seems stuck on an old screen or won't show new features after an update.

  •   You're getting unexpected errors that a normal refresh doesn't fix.

  •   Support/IT has asked you to "reset" or "reinstall" the app.

How to use it:

  1. Go to the login page.

  2. Scroll to the bottom and click Reset App.

  3. Confirm when prompted ("This will clear the app's cached files and reload...").

  4. Wait for the app to reload, then log back in.

Note: the Reset App link only appears when you're online — it needs a network connection to re-download the app afterwards, so it's not available while you're working offline.

3b. The Reset App Page - Use this if Connect fails to start or load.

If Consultus Connect fails to start — you see a "failed to load" message, a blank white screen, or it hangs on loading — there's a separate reset page URL that works even when the main app is broken.

How to get to it:

What the Reset page does:

  •   Clears the app's cached files, cookies, and login session, then reloads a fresh copy.

  •   You'll need to log in again afterwards.

  •   By default it does not touch any care points, medication, or other data you recorded while offline, that hasn't synced to the server yet.

The "delete offline data" checkbox:

  •   There's a checkbox to also delete unsynced offline data. Leave this unticked unless IT Support has specifically told you to use it.

  •   This cannot be undone — if you have unsynced entries and tick this box, that data is gone permanently.

When to use it:

  •   The normal in-app "Reset App" link (on the login page) isn't available or the app won't load far enough to show it.

  •   Support has asked you to go to /reset.html directly as part of troubleshooting a device.

4. If the above two options do not work then:

Use a different web browser (Chrome / Edge / Firefox) on your phone or computer and go to connect.consultuscare.com

5. Still having problems accessing Connect?

- If you are still experiencing problems with accessing/logging in to Connect it may be that your device isn't compatible and you may need to look into upgrading your device if it's outdated.

- To check if you may need to potentially update your device. Google Search for your device's latest software version — for an iPhone, search 'Latest iOS version.

If your device says you're up to date but not on the latest version, then it means the new software is not compatible with the hardware on your dev
ice.
